Design@7 Visual Works Private Limited was incorporated in April 2002 as a result of a management buy from Africa Online’s Internet Business Solutions Department. Our core business being visual communication which encompasses Graphic Design, Advertising, Web development and Multimedia.

Design@7 is arguably the first company in the country to successfully integrate print and electronic design hence meeting all client needs.

In trying to find a name for the business we sought a name that had depth of meaning and that would embody our values, beliefs and what we stood for individually and corporately and that is Godliness in all we do. We also wanted the name to be unusual and rouse people to question what was behind it.

Though the name represents our belief structures the company remains open to employing people of all race or creed, Christian or not.

Design – The design aspect of the name quickly identifies us to what we do that is design in all our disciplines, in advertising above and below the line, graphic design, web design etc.

@ - While the Design in the name largely represents the Graphic Design aspect of the business the ‘at’ sign brings in the Web Development aspect of the business. This symbol also makes the way in which our name is written unique and individual, bringing out our character of innovativeness, which is found in our values. The web and electronic media is associated with the modern and the future and this element makes our business forward looking and technologically advanced.

The number seven is what ties in the depth of meaning in our name. It is taken from the Biblical meaning and significance meaning complete or full. We believe that we draw our creativity and inspiration from the creator of all creators, God Himself.

Seven is also the seal of God; He stamped His approval of the creation by resting on the seventh day. Seven occurs throughout the Word of God more often than any other number. The number 7 symbolizes “Completion” and “Perfection”, two things we aim to deliver always.
